All Eyes on ajinkya Rahane for the Boxing Day Test | crickinfopolls

All eyes will be on Ajinkya Rahane in the next Test series against Australia. The Deputy Test captain will have to lead the team in the last three Tests in the absence of Virat Kohli. The Indian captain will return home after the first Test in Adelaide where his baby is born. Having led India to two previous Tests and led the team to victory in both games, Ajinkya Rahane is no new captain. However he is determined to lead the team for the first time in the overseas Test and one can say that Ajinkya Rahane would not have asked for an opposition team and a stadium but only time will tell how he is doing as captain, former Australian captain Ian Chappell already has him as "good captain" . Chappell expects Ajinkya Rahane's "aggressive style" to coincide with the Indian team in the upcoming series. He recalled how the Indian star impressed him as captain during the Dharamsala Test against Australia in 2017. “I saw him as a captain in one Test against Australia (Dharamsala in March, 2017) and I found out that his captain is good. He was a really aggressive captain.

“I remember a few things about his captain. What stood out to me was the first Australian innings, Warner was well on his way and moving on top of the Indian bowlers. He brought in Kuldeep Yadav (who started playing for the team) and fired Warner, "quoted by Chappell by PTI." The second thing I remember is that India chased a low number and they lost a few wickets. Rahane just came in and attacked the Australian bowlers and hit another 20 odd ones (38 off 27 balls). I liked that approach.

“Look, as a captain, you always have two options - one aggressive and the other complex. I believe that in Test cricket a violent approach is a must and Rahane is aggressive, ”he added.
