Shakib Al Hasan is Back to Play Cricket | crickinfopolls | #BBL

Bangladesh Cricket is eager to welcome Shakib Al Hasan back to the dressing room with both hands. That is the belief of Mahmudullah, who acted as captain of the T20I team shortly after Shakib was given a 12-month sentence.

Shakib, who was due to expire on October 29, is currently in the USA with his family, but could return to Bangladesh's kraal early next month.

"Shakib is back, which makes me very happy," Mahmudullah. "We know that Shakib has been an outstanding player for so many years, on the Bangladesh cricket team. We are all eagerly awaiting his return to the dressing room. It's nice to know that we can see him, talk to him and spend time with him."

Shakib had completed a four-week training camp with his mentors Mohammad Salahuddin and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim at BKSP in September. The training, which was largely conducted privately, was intended to return to the Bangladesh team during their (scheduled) trip to Sri Lanka. He was expected to play the second Test, but the trip was postponed for the second time last month.

Since the ban, Shakib has stayed away from the community, without any strange conversations or social media posts. He is likely to return to the five-team T20 BCB tournament hosted from mid-November.

Mahmudullah, who has spent all of his 13-year career playing for Shakib, feels that the allrounder will come back without rust.

"Shakib is a champion player. I don't think it will take him long to get back on track. I believe he will get it as soon as he enters the cricket field.

"The biggest thing is that we can fill the void left by his absence. He always makes important contributions with the belt and the ball."

Switching Shakib has been a hot topic in Bangladesh at the moment, and the team has already changed since the 2019 World Cup. Shakib led the side in Tests and T20Is. Following his suspension, Bangladesh tried to make any mark during a visit to India and Pakistan, and defended its pride by beating Zimbabwe entirely at home in all three formats earlier this year.

Minjuljul Abedin, the BCB's chief executive, echoed Mahmudulla's words, predicting that Shakib would return to competitive cricket in the upcoming home tournaments.

"He may have been injured before the series. He missed a few Tests recently too, so we have to pick whoever is in the current situation. We really miss him. He is one of the best in the world, and there are very few of them these days. , which has greatly benefited us. "

Bangladesh's next international assignment is likely to be a domestic series against the West Indies in January 2021. Bangladesh has so far had eight tests and a number of ODIs and T20Is postponed, due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
