Irresponsible Shot Selection from Rohit sharma says Sunil Gavaskar | Border gavaskar trophy | crickinfopolls

Sunil Gavaskar was left angry and frustrated with Rohit Sharma's dismissal for the second time on Day 2 of the 4th match in Gabba, Brisbane. Rohit dropped his wicket in 44 when he tried to take Nathan Lyon and was sent off in the middle of the wicket.

Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at Rohit Sharma, saying it was "irresponsible" from an experienced player like opening India. Rohit was hitting 44 and looked sleek and strong in the middle before throwing his wicket into the regular ball from an off-spinner, playing his 100th Test in Gabba.

Rohit hit a straight-laced drive in the previous game against Josh Hazlewood but was unable to withstand his temptation as Nathan Lyon floated high in the air. Rohit came dancing down the track but could not get to the football field. Rohit hit it in the air and Mitchell Starc made the race from a long time to catch well near the deep center of the wicket.

Rohit seemed frustrated as he slowly made his way back to the tent. India held their second session despite losing Shubman Gill early as Rohit looked pleasing to the eye, showing off his stroke game. Rohit looks very confident in the quality speed attack that his loose shooting and subsequent dismissal left fans and cricket players frustrated.

An unbelievable gun. That shot is unanswered. Someone is setting fire there, there is a striker there in the deep square leg," Sunil Gavaskar told Channel 7 on Saturday.

"You just hit the border a few deliveries before and why would you play that shot? You're a great player, no reason, no reason at all for that shot. An unnecessary wicket, an unnecessary wicket with a gift. Absolutely unnecessary," Gavaskar said.

Remarkably, Rohit looked uncomfortable after playing that “trouble-free shot” as he seemed to have picked up a hoof on his legs. The gingerly open walk back to the pavillion.

Rohit had a problem with overseas conditions but he looked confident and strong from the moment he entered the XI in Test 3. Rohit came out with an offensive shot. On Saturday, there was a hundred picks but Rohit rejected it, too.
