Both David Warner and Sean Abbott have been dropped from the Boxing Day Test against India with a series of injuries. The two will join the team before the third Test.
Warner has not fully recovered from the injuries he suffered in the ODI series against India, while Abbott has recovered from the calf injury he suffered while playing against Australia and India.

Warner and Abbott both flew early to Melbourne following the COVID-19 explosion in Sydney.
With the new spate of COVID-19 cases in Sydney, speculation abounds about the CA to end the Sydney Test which is due to start on January 7 and run back-to-back games in Melbourne.
The second Test of the four-match series is expected to start on December 26 in Melbourne with no additional players in the squad.
